2018-03-05 13:33:28Three English clubs are in action in the Champions League this week and there is also the return leg of the heavyweight clash between PSG and Real Madrid to look forward to. Betting on football is kinda our thing so jump on board as we take on the bookies this week at BetRevolution!!
Liverpool v FC Porto
Tuesday, 19:45 UK time
On Tuesday night, Liverpool welcome FC Porto to Anfield in a match which is surely no more than a formality. The Reds won 5-0 in Portugal with a scintillating display of attacking football which made fans the world over fall in love with them on Valentine’s Day! A Sadio Mane hat-trick was the central theme on a night when Porto endured their first home defeat of the season.
Looking forward to the return leg on Tuesday, it’s hard to predict these games as no one knows if Porto will have any fight left in them. Also, Liverpool will be resting players before their trip to Old Trafford to play Manchester United on Saturday. Klopp will surely want to keep the Reds in the winning habit, however. It may well be a good bet to back Liverpool to win and both teams to score - coming in at around 21/10 at the moment at bet365.
I think Dominic Solanke will be handed a rare start so for a more off-the-wall bet in that game I’d back Solanke to score at any time. This is 17/10 at Unibet right now.
PSG v Real Madrid
Tuesday, 19:45 UK time
With the Liverpool tie essentially decided, this is the one all you neutrals will be tuning into on Tuesday night. With Madrid 3-1 up from the first leg and PSG missing Neymar, Marquinhos and possibly Mbappe, they side from the French capital really are up against it. It will all be down to the atmosphere the PSG fans can create at the Parc des Princes coupled with the performance the old guards such as Cavani, Rabiot, Verratti, and Thiago Silva can produce on the night. PSG will have to go for it right from the off so it’s bound to be an open, free-flowing game where Benzema and Ronaldo might just thrive on the counter-attack. Expect it to be pretty frisky, too, as there’s no love lost between these two and PSG are just sick to the teeth of getting knocked out of the Champions League by Spanish teams.
With over 2.5 goals being scored in ALL of PSG’s last 14 CL games, and in 19 of Real’s last 20 CL games it’s no surprise that the odds on over 2.5 goals in this game are a poor 3/10.
So, with probably plenty of goals on offer, it makes sense to back Karim Benzema to score anytime at around 43/20 with Unibet. The French international has returned to form in recent weeks and will be keen to impress in his homeland.
A good outside bet for this game would be for PSG to score a penalty which is 5/1 at the time of writing at bet365.
